Our Mission

Martha's TableT3 Honu was created for a community of multisport athletes of ALL abilities seeking a lifetime of health and fitness. We support each other during weekly buddy workouts weekend group bikes and runs.

Our goal is to create a spirit of camaraderie in a community of age group athletes who believe that every club member should pay forward as citizens of the great planet earth via providing youth, charitable, and philanthropic events and educational programs.

While T3 Honu is primarily a multisport club formed to promote fitness, education, and training for multisport athletic events, we also believe in having a strong sense of community. This means being actively engaged in the community in which we live and train, and not exclusively by donating money to a select nonprofit. As a club/team, we will be organizing 3-5 hands-on volunteer events during 2013, partnering with the following local nonprofits:

College Success Foundation of Washington DC

(EIN 52-1186071)

Mission – Martha’s Table transforms lives by engaging the community in developing sustainable solutions to poverty. We meet core needs of our clients with education, nutrition and family support programs that prepare young people for a promising future.

Phoenix Bikes

Mission Phoenix Bikes has supported local youth in the DC Metro area since 2007 – providing a safe, nurturing and educational environment that reinforces teamwork, hard work, and entrepreneurship through bike maintenance and education programs. Since our launch, we have had the opportunity to sponsor more than 300 youths and provide more than 1,500 refurbished bikes to the community.

These T3 Honu-organized volunteer events will be designed in such a way that anyone can participate, no large amount of training will be necessary to participate, and no financial contribution will be required (i.e., we are donating our time and skills in lieu of money). In addition to meeting the intended purpose of giving back to our community, these events will be social in nature, providing an opportunity for team building and socializing with teammates in a non-athletic setting.

Members are committed to participate in a minimum of one sanctioned community volunteer event per year. This minimum community requirement may grow over time, but we will keep this to just one event, while encouraging members to attend as many of the events as possible.
